About Me and My Family
Adam and I have been married 15 years this year (2017) and have been together since 1998.
He’s my best friend and always such a support to me. I wouldn’t be a successful work at home mom without him. He’s been supportive and believed in me even when I have doubted myself. I’m so thankful for his love.
In June 2017 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He is currently going through the process of treating the disease with proton therapy radiation. His prognosis is great. And he’s in good spirits. It’s a scary and overwhelming thing to have cancer, with things we never had even though of, like cancer coming back, or even the treatments themselves producing another cancer later in life. But truly, we are optimistic and believing the best for him.
We have three boys together. A 13 year old (N), a 10 year old (Z), and an 8 year old (D). Their names aren’t secret, secret. As, if you follow me on social media, you will know their names. I just want to keep things as anonymous as possible on the blog, for their sake.
They are wonderful children, whom I’ve had the privilege of raising full-time since my oldest son was 6 months old. They are funny, witty, caring, sweet, ornery, tender, and amazing little boys. They love video games, riding bikes, fishing, boat rides, their grandparents, and swimming. I’m honored to be their mother and hope we always have a good relationship. But most of all, I pray they remain close to one another, as siblings are a gift from God.
My youngest son and I both have Lyme disease. We’ve been sick for 9 years and treating the disease for 7. I’ve blogged about our journey on this blog. You can find it under the About Me tab. I don’t talk about it as much now, because I’ve pretty much exhausted all I can say about it, but you will sometimes hear about it on this blog, and on social media. I’ve been told by more than one friend and family member, that because of my awareness building, they are more aware of the dangers ticks can pose to themselves, and their pets. And that is what it’s all about. Building awareness for a disease that is still such a mystery.
About my Faith
I’m a Christian.
I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe God is good, always. And that the enemy is who is going around trying to kill, steal, and destroy God’s people.
I believe it’s important to call evil, evil and good, good. Meaning, cancer is not good, it’s evil, therefore what is evil is not of God. Healing is good, health is good, those are from the Lord.
I believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.
I believe Love can always overcome hate.
I believe God can use even the broken. And that He loves us no matter what, and forgives, even the worst sins, in His people.
I believe in second chances.
And that is me, in a nutshell!
