It seems as though I took a million photos on our vacation. Some with my phone, some with my point and click camera. I’m a photographer at heart. I document everything. Maybe it’s the blogger in me. Whatever the case, I took a million photos. I decided to print them with Persnickety Prints, my absolute favorite place to order photos online.
The photos have been hanging around the house for a few weeks now. I’m bad at printing photos. They usually stay on my phone and online. And then when I do print them, they often just get thrown into a closet. I think it’s because I’m just not good at putting together a lovely photo album or scrapbook. It’s not my strength, creatively speaking. Probably because it’s so overwhelming, with all the goodies you can buy for a scrapbook.
With the children being gone on vacation this week, and so much time on my hands, I decided to go to Michaels today and put together a haul of vacation themed scrapbooking material. I had a hard time at first – choosing the album. I looked at album after album but none of them felt right to me. They were either too big or too small or not the right color or whatever. I stumbled upon a kraft paper “journal” that caught my eye. It’s the right size, casual but still pretty, and just what I wanted. I then quickly found the stickers I wanted and other accessories for the book.
I’m looking forward to putting together the album. I’m not sure when this week I will get around to it but once it’s a complete I’ll give you a quick tour of the finished product. Below you’ll find photos of all the goodies I collected at the store today. So much more I wanted to get! Next time.
EDITED: The journal idea isn’t working… doh! I ordered a traditional scrapbook from Amazon.com that will arrive in a couple of days. I’ll show you the finished project soon!
